Here's a list of frequently asked questions, and their answers.

I'm new to this whole Photoshop brushes thing. How do I get started?

The first thing you're going to want to understand is how to install the Photoshop brushes that you can download from this website. I have a tutorial that walks you through installing photoshop brushes.

Once you feel a bit more comfortable with that, I also have <a wytiwyg="1" href="<a href=" http:="" deviantart.com="" users="" outgoing?http:="" www.obsidiandawn.com="" tutorials"="">tutorials on more complex things involving Photoshop brushes, as well as tips and techniques!

What version of Photoshop will these work in?

Any version of Photoshop from 7 up until the most recent version will be able to use most of these brushes, patterns, and tutorials. Any version of Photoshop Elements from version 2 and on can use them.  Any GIMP version from 2.2.6 and up can use them.

Oh no! I don't use Photoshop or GIMP! Can I still use your brushes somehow?

Yep! You most certainly can! On each of my deviation descriptions, there will be a link back to my website - generally for purchasing a license. Follow that link, and you'll find image pack downloads available on my website. You can use those to create brushes in your favorite graphics program!

When I use your brushes, they just show up in black & white. How do I get them to show up in all the colors like you display them on your images?

One of the beautiful things about Photoshop brushes is the fact that they show up in whatever color you have selected to "paint" them in. However, this makes having brushes show up in multiple colors a bit more difficult. If you're interested in doing that, check out my tutorial on adding multiple colors to your Photoshop brushes.

I'd like to convert your brush sets and make them available for others. Is this possible?

You'll have to email me to get permission for this.  I no longer allow GIMP conversions, because my brushes now work in GIMP.

Can I use your brushes commercially?

Yes.  You have the option of either crediting me everywhere you use them or purchasing a commercial license.

Anything else not covered here...

... please feel free to contact me via my website.

Question: If I sell the artwork including the brushes, where/how do you want me to credit you, in the artwork/description/etc? (I might use for DA and Etsy)
